Yes. Especially with bootcamps, Medium articles, and online courses, people think ‘I just need to ask a few people some questions.’ Well, questions aren’t the best choice if you should be watching them and doing an observational study. Questions can be bad. Bad questions can flaw research and lead us down the wrong path. Bad research sets up the whole project for possible small and large failures.

And yes, it takes years to become good at these things. We’re all always learning!
