I agree. I wish UX publications had standards, but the only one that did just went down in flames over racist tweets that they then tripled-down on. :( This is part of why critical thinking is important. Check who wrote the article. If you don’t see years of specialized UX research experience, they might not be the right person to advice on good ways to do research!
