Hi there! What do you mean my “idea about the book”?
I believe that *some* agencies are hiring and creating excellence, more than the corporate world. The corporate world tends to want to do things the same old way. Even companies trying to be “Agile” are bringing in more meetings, counting time in 2 week blocks, a few ceremonies, but little else. It’s still not customer-centric. No time or budget for CX/UX research or testing… we’ll just spend $$$$$$ building and releasing it, and learn months from now if people like it.
Agencies and consultancies are often brought in to diagnose and solve problems. The problem could be the app or system the company is building… it’s just not right for customers… where should we go with it.
The consultancy could be brought in for larger CX strategy work or transitioning the company towards more customer-centricity. Let’s research customers’ tasks and workflows so that we have business intelligence and risk mitigation. Let’s make the product stronger so we’re saving on Engineering, Marketing, and more.
This is why I tend to believe that agencies and consultancies will want to hire (and grow) the talented strategists, analysts, problem finders, and problem solvers. Sure some companies want that.. it’s not zero… but companies right now seem to prefer fake Agile, fake Lean, and let’s do a workshop to decide what features to build. And when it all breaks, hire a consultancy to try to glue us back together.
